London

Theo Cookson is a multi-faceted musician and producer hailing from Leeds, UK. His musical journey began in the vibrant West Indian carnival scene, where he played steel pan from an early age, touring the country for various Caribbean carnivals and high-profile events.

Cookson's professional career took off when his childhood band, VITAMIN, signed with Sony Columbia. They enjoyed success and extensive touring across the UK.

Following this early success, Cookson pursued a music production degree at Leeds Conservatoire, specialising in field recording and musique concrète practices. He has since established himself as a producer and writer, collaborating with pop and electronic artists including Mantraybryn, Stolen Velour, Happa, 96 Back, Happy People and Jellyskin.

Cookson's ambient and instrumental work is characterised by his extensive use of field recordings. He continuously adds to this collection, often extracting singular frequencies to create harmony and rhythm, resulting in a unique and evolving sound palette.
